OUR CURRENT

The Maple Bear ™ educational method was developed by Canadian experts for the RCSE’s global schools to create an early learning program for children. This program is constantly updated to ensure that the Maple Bear education system reflects the best in early childhood education.

Maple Bear in Morocco offers a learning experience in 3 languages, English, French and Arabic. It focuses on literacy and early language acquisition, artistic and creative activities, mathematics and logical thinking, science and technology, physical skills and well-being, and personal and social skills.

Maple Bear Global School shares the conviction that educating young people is a great responsibility entrusted to it by parents and society. Its actions must therefore meet the highest standards of performance and professional integrity.

COURSE PACKAGE

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that allows them to achieve their full potential. Children develop rapidly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and five years of age have a major impact on his or her future possibilities. Maple Bear sets high standards for the preparation of children for primary school. Maple Bear offers children a wide range of knowledge and skills that provide the ideal foundation for effective progress in school and life.

English Language Arts

At the end of kindergarten, children will communicate effectively in English by listening and speaking. They will have a good understanding of alphabetic symbols and be able to read a basic text in English. They will be able to use phonic strategies to approach new words and writing strategies appropriate for beginners. And finally, they will be able to use and respond on all media supports.

Personal and social development

Children will learn to share, respect others, listen and understand that people have different talents and functions in our society.

Science and technology

Children will demonstrate curiosity about the natural world, knowledge of the characteristics of common materials, identify cycles in nature using observation techniques and collaborate with others to use the computer in all aspects of their studies.

Creative activities

Children will understand the color, shape and use of materials to express ideas. They will be able to express themselves through music, art, theatre and dance.

Physical skills and well-being

Children will develop physical skills such as balance and flexibility, an understanding of sharing, coordination and cooperation.

Mathematics

The children will solve the problems. They will become familiar with models of their environment, numerical concepts, comparisons, sets, basic operations (e. g. addition and subtraction), 2D and 3D objects, geometry, measurements and probabilities.

Language development and acquisition

Children enter Maple Bear School with some basics in their mother tongue. By learning their mother tongue, children go through several stages in a predictable order: listening, developing understanding, speaking, reading and writing. The successive steps begin while the previous steps are still under development. When Maple Bear children learn English as a new language, their development in English goes through the same stages in the same order as their mother tongue learning. Research shows that learning several languages at an early age offers both linguistic and

cognitive methodology advantages. in Maple The immersion is used Bear schools to develop English language skills. This means that children learn to listen, speak, read and write in English in an immersive environment. Children learn in English from day one.

OUR PEDAGOGICAL TEAMS

GHISLAINE BULTHUIS

Principal

I grew up in the country of tulips and windmills, and have been on the move since I was 16, now living in my 6th country, Morocco. Apart travelling, I am passionate about languages (now speaking 8), teaching and education. I was raised in a country where we were free to express ourselves, and had a lot of creative activities to be able to become independent and develop a love for reading. I am so happy to be able to participate in this kind of education in Morocco and look forward meeting all the parents and children so together we can create the Maple Bear family where children can flourish

I have been an English teacher since 2015, and I have passionate about teaching children my whole life. Specialized in primary and kindergarten classes, I love working with children and in general they love me back.

Friendly and open-minded, I am very happy to be part of this new school, especially to be able to bring the Canadian system to Casablanca.
